Install OS 5.0 Betas From Your Mac Desktop Manager

Morrison let me know that he did up a nice video instructing users how to update to a different OS from their Mac. The problem is extracting the files from EXE files on a Mac and he has provided links to extracted DMG archives for the latest OS 5.0 leaks. The process basically involves installing a valid OS and they copying over the beta/Hybrid COD files into Library>application support>blackberry desktop>device application>… Check out the video below and the files beneath it:

  1. It’s so weird to see Mac users using or caring about BlackBerry’s. I would think they would only consider the “God” phone.

  6. Don’t do this, my bold got bricked by trying this. Now I have to go and find a PC to reload my software. I’m pretty sure I did this correctly as I’ve updated my berry countless times to beta builds and have a lot of experience playing around with these things.

I can’t find any folder bearing ‘blackberry desktop’ after I got into application support. Just blackberry. No device application folder either. What’s on the ‘blackberry folder’ are the following: BBDaemon,
BBLaunchAgent, and ‘Type your BlackBerry password’. So with this, I can’t really move further. Please help. Thanks.

I create this video and the DMG files, this works 100% for Hybrids and or updating from 5.0.0.190 to 5.0.0.238 but to jump from 4.5 to 5.0 it will not work??? I am still testing as I have been for several days! Please be patient and any additional help would be very helpful….

I don’t think the ALX files are needed?
