Yippidu Free WorldNews & NYC Event Apps

yippidu Josep let me know about two new apps from a new developer called KipCast Corp. They released a WorldNews application alongside a new app that shows events in New York City. Both apps look pretty cool but I doubt the World News app will replace Viigo for me.

The WorldNews app collects news from the United States of America, the United Kingdom, Canada, Australia/New Zealand, India and China. It then provides you the author, publication, and a short 200 character or less snippet of the article with a link to the original article. Not sure why I would want to use it over a Google News RSS feed in Viigo but it works and is free.

The NYC Events app is a bit more interesting to me since I live in NYC. It gives you a list of major events happening in New York City. I am not sure where it gets the information for the app  but it includes theater shows and concerts both on an off Broadway. You can also browse by theater name or show name.

You can find the NYC Events app at this link and the WorldNews app a this link in the App World.
