Well look at what we have for you, some eye candy of the BlackBerry Atlas Running OS 5.0.0.239, all I can say is that this device is looking sexy next to pair up next to the 9700.  Thanks to Negri electronics for providing us some pictures of this sleek looking new BlackBerry. Just a few days ago there was not much known about this device but now we got you some nice images to show you. From the looks of it it will be similar to the 9700. The back of the Atlas looks more like the 8900 device and the 9700 has a similarity to the current bold 9000

*Update: Images removed per RIM’s request*

Features that are notable from the pictures are:

  • Wifi
  • Trackpad
  • Bold Line
  • EDGE no 3G that could change when release

BlackBerry OS also got their hands on a list of specifications you can check that out at this link, let us know what you think of this new device in the comments section. You can click on the pictures to make them larger.

So how is this one different from the 8520? Battery? The specs look otherwise identical to the 8520? Or is it the camera?

    • it seems that this one does have a better camera than most of them, the 8520 only has wifi, this one should have GPS from what I’ve heard.

It looks like the camera is better, but I don’t see any indication of GPS. This is slicing the sardines very tightly! Perhaps a different baseband/radio/processor in order to keep Marvell, Freescale and Qualcomm on their toes? But otherwise, this seems like a very slight and narrow minor differentiation. It could just be that this one gets a 1500 battery instead of the 8520’s 1100 battery.
