Well looks like the 8230 has not been forgotten by RIM, I have not heard any talks about the 8230 flip phone in a while with all the upcoming devices taking all the spot light. It seems that the guys over at BlackBerryos.com have found a leak version of OS 5.0 for this device. Am interested to see how this OS handles on the flip BlackBerry. You can pick up the OS from this links:
Megaupload : http://www.megaupload.com/?d=4NJR5U2V
Rapidshare : http://rapidshare.com/files/285031628/8230AMEA_PBr5.0.0_rel355_PL3.5.0.30_A5.0.0.230.exe
I have not tested this out but if you do try it let us know what you find in the comments; You can also read more about it over at www.BlackBerryos.com
A note of caution: Do this upgrade at your own risk because it may render your device unusable if you are not familiar with OS upgrades, this is a Beta OS and not an official release.

There has been no leaks yet for older models but this is the latest know version 5.0.0.191 and sure they will need to do a lot more work to tweak the 5.0 to work on this devices maybe a reason why we have not seen one out yet. But is funny because I do remember some of the first images we saw was an 8310 running OS 5.0 a while back. Hopefully before the end of the yr we will see it release for all devices.

I read some way on BBOS. Devices that have 128mb and up memory on board will only have the new os 5.0. So that leaves out 81xx,88xx and 83xx. But don’t listen to me.
