Ascendo DataVault v4.5 Released – Improved Storm Support

datavault While I still use the defunct CryptMagic, other developers are still working on their secure data storage applications. Tashanna let me know that Ascendo has released version 4.5 of their popular DataVault application. This version adds:

  • Full support for Storm touch screen. Use finger swipe to scroll list, screen tap to select, column re-ordering by tapping on header, column resizing by holding down finger on header and sliding borders left or right.
  • Implemented double-click to Edit record in DataVault Desktop Tree View.
  • Support for Firefox version 3.5; auto-fill web forms, save web forms, generate passwords with DataVault Browser Toolbar.
  • Increased size of item icons and folders, improved buttons, app icon, background image, etc.

The only annoying part is that Ascendo added synchronization over Wi-Fi for the iPhone OS and not for the BlackBerry. A feature like that, or better yet secure OTA sync, would really make me finally switch over to DataVault or SplashID. Especially considering the $29.99+ price tag that all of these secure data storage demand.
