This just blows my mind. Stefan from IntoMobile spotted the fact that China Mobile has passed the half a billion customers mark. That is crazy compared to the largest US carriers who have less than 100 million. The fact that China Mobile has more customers that the whole US population is just mind boggling. Now I totally understand why RIM has been pushing BlackBerrys there.
Last time I checked it was only possible to get BES service and not BIS service. Anybody know if that has changed?

BIS is for the non-business user (not paid by or managed through your employer) and BES is the “enterprise” version which is paid for and managed through your employer.

Business – MS Outlook and Lotus Notes
2. Self-Provisioning via the Handheld or Desktop
3. Attachment Viewing Capabilities
4. Personalized Settings
5. Wireless Reconciliation

It integrates your corporate mail which is more secured and provide over the air management for BES Admin. You need hardware (BES Server) and software (Server Software) for having BES access.

BES is probably only offered in China so the government can read all the emails
