RIM Confirms That Gmail 2-Way Sync Coming in “Near Future”
I was reading through the usually mind numbing BlackBerry Connection Newsletter and ran into this interesting tidbit. RIM ran an article in the latest edition about the Gmail Plugin that was released weeks ago and threw in a little paragraph that was actually newsworthy:
Initially, synchronization with the Gmail webmail client is only in the smartphone-to-webmail direction, meaning that changes made to messages (such as adding or editing a label) using the web client will not be reflected on the handheld, but two-way synchronization is expected to be implemented in the near future.
I can’t wait! Hopefully this will not be limited with the Gmail Plugin single email folder asinine restriction. I guess RIM realized that being able to filter, sort, and use tags on your BlackBerry loses much of its usefulness if it is not in sync with your desktop account.
