Sprint Releases Camera-less BlackBerry Tour 9630

BlackBerry-Tour-sans-camera Better late than never. Sprint just released the BlackBerry Tour sans camera for those who have a need for such a model. I know that some courthouses have loosened restrictions on cameras but many government and other facilities still frown heavily or completely ban camera phones.

That’s why it is nice to see that RIM and Sprint have not forgotten some of their original customers with the BlackBerry Tour and 8350i. There is still no GSM option since the 8820 for camera less BlackBerrys but hopefully one is coming with the 9700 Bold update.

You can pick up the camera-less BlackBerry Tour for $199.99 with 2 year agreement at this link.

  1. Got in trouble 2 weeks ago, wasn’t even thinking and forgot I had upgrade to Tour with camera. Oops. At least last week in San Diego that site doesn’t seem to care (”no photographic devices” signs are gone) any more.

I guess what I don’t get is why sites like IntoMobile and BBCool and etc are reporting this as if its some big news of something new and different now available? They make it sound like the 9630NC just launched, when its been available since original 9630 launch day on Verizon. Granted, not in stores, direct fulfillment only, but available nonetheless.

  2. This new BlackBerry 9630 is a 3G, so we already have half the battle won, and GPRS connections hated the first “new” Curve.

As for features, is almost a bend, a 3.2 megapixel camera, Bluetooth, GPS, 2.4 inch screen, 256MB internal memory expandable with microSD cards …. The bad thing is missing WiFi to faster connections. As shown here – http://www.techarena.in/video/10847-blackberry-tour-9630-good-bad.htm
