SmartBBattery – Free Homescreen Icon That Shows Battery Status

smartbbattery Adam spotted this little free app called SmartBBattery that intrigued me. The app essentially provides you with a homescreen icon that changes color based on your battery charge level and shows you the remaining battery percentage. I can’t really think of a reason why I would need such an app myself. I mentioned it to a few friends and the first thing that they said was that some themes make it really hard to tell how much of a charge you have left. This is definitely one of those love it or hate it applications but it is free!

I am still going to use the Help Me! screen to see the battery percentage but if you want a free app/icon to do it for you check it out at this link in the store. According to the comments it looks like they are planning on updating the look of the app soon!

  1. Yea, it’s a nice app, but the look doesn’t fit my theme so I have to shove it into a folder. Also, the number isn’t centered, it’s justified right.

Final criticism: if you restart your berry, you have to click on icon otherwise, it won’t show the battery level.

If they also had a fullscreen that showed the battery kinda like the iPhone, then maybe I’d get it. Right now as it is it’s useless. IMO

  3. At first when I installed this, it worked. Then later it totally stopped working. Wouldn’t refresh anymore. Uninstalled!
