Tashanna let me know that the BlackBerry Bold OS 4.6.0.301 that leaked awhile back is now official courtesy of AVEA. It looks like it was first spotted by Morganizer on BerryAddicted. Not sure what is new in this version but official releases are usually pretty decent.

If anybody tries it, please test the following:
1- Is the signal on ATT as good as the officially unofficial ATT .297?
2- When restarting the phone (say early in the morning), does the battery die quickly say…in 5-7 hours?

  2. Mine does that with the current/past official official ATT releases already!!!!! :-)

    • Oh yeah, and when it drains like that I have to put something with rubber soles on, lest I touch the trackball and tries to kill me with the jolts of electricity !

Has anyone loaded this OS to their Bold? I’m curious to know what’s better about this OS than the previously released OS from AT&T… any takers???

  4. I tried it on my backup Bold and it installed and seems to be working. Nothing really to report yet since most of the issues are degradation over time… Its also impossible to tell when call issues are due to the phone or the iPhone killing AT&T’s network.

  5. I have been running this OS on my Bold for a few weeks. Battery life is MUCH better than AT&T’s 297 release. 3G signal quality is also fine.

Have you tried THIS official OS one?
trying out a beta .301 is different than trying an official .301 you know.
Even the same official versions of .282 on Rogers vs. Mobilink were completely different you know…
Try this version and see if it fixes your problems with WiFi, you’re not the first one to complain about the beta WiFi issues you know.
