BlackBerry Planet Author Alastair Sweeny Interviewed by Forbes

blackberry-planet Alastair Sweeny is scheduled to release “BlackBerry Planet: The Story of Research in Motion and the Little Device that Took the World by Storm” this month. It is a book that puts him as one of the foremost RIM historians. He even scored an interview with Forbes to discuss the book. Many writers have covered Microsoft and Google but this will be the first book covering the history of RIM. Sweeny is off to a great start with the first chapter that he published online (which is a GREAT read) and the book looks like it is very well researched. He even delayed the book for a month since so many people were offering more insight and facts on RIM’s history from early RIM engineers & partners.

The book is available for pre-order right now on Amazon for $17.79 and will hopefully be released soon by Wiley. I am definitely going to get a copy once it is released and will keep you all in the loop.

NOTE: The Forbes article says the book is set to be published in September but the publishers page says it is set for October… I sent an email to Alastair.
