BlackBerry App World Launches in the Caribbean

IMG_8525Looks like RIM is really pushing hard to internationalize the App World. They just announced the launch in a few new Caribbean islands: Aruba, Bahamas, Cayman Islands, Jamaica, and Trinidad & Tobago.

I doubt this news will rock the world but if you live or work on one of these islands then this will be welcome news. You can pickup the App World at this link.

I am still not sure how Apple managed to launch their App Store in so many countries but RIM is struggling along with a few countries every time. Maybe they should get all the lawyers who are sending BerryReview takedown notices to work on something more productive! (Yes that means you Jordan!)

PS: The picture to the right is of me in the Bahamas. Can you believe that they were selling the Bold for $755!

As a resident of Trinidad and Tobago, I am glad to receive some love from RIM as we always have to put up with the North America or UK only stuff or almost always something that requires a Zip or Postal code or we have to be creative in signing up for stuff by using US addresses to get past the requirements. Hurrah!
