End of Life Notice – MDS Runtime and MDS Studio

An End-of-Life notice has been posted on DevZone for BlackBerry MDS Runtime and BlackBerry MDS Studio. The following are important milestones.
* BlackBerry MDS Runtime will not be supported on BlackBerry Smartphones running OS v4.7.1 or higher.
** BlackBerry® Plug-in for Microsoft® Visual Studio® v1.2 will continue to be supported and enhanced
Partners are encouraged to migrate any MDS Runtime applications to Web or Java applications, or use a combination of both approaches. Key features from the MDS Runtime and Studio products will be integrated into Java and Web development tools.
DevZone will continue to be updated with new resources to assist in migration and this topic will be discussed in an upcoming Alliance Partner Webcast along with other BlackBerry Application Platform updates.
DevCon 2009 will cover this migration in-depth including development and deployment considerations, in addition to key enhancements to both Web and Java platforms.
