Nelson sent us through this little tip all the way from Venezuela. Telecomunicaciones Movilnet have just released the newest Official release for the Bold. You can pick it up at the link below:
https://www.blackberry.com/Downloads/entry.do?code=95151403B0DB4F75BFD8DA0B393AF853
For those not with this carrier, you will need to delete the vendor .xml file (Go to c:\program file\common files\research In Motion\Apploader and delete the vendor.xml file).
Thanks for the tip Nelson.

For starters, this version is not an instant delete and back to the good old previous OS.
Looks ok and reboot time is considerably good.
However, I will be testing one if the biggest draw backs of ver .282 within a day or two which is, when the phone is reset during the day, the battery life is significantly compromised.

Had this running for a day now and i’m finding the battery life much reduced.
It only lasted 5 hours with pretty normal use so far today.

Initial impressions are OK. No immediately apparent new features. No problems with the installation or apps.
Startup time from a reset seemed somewhat better. Reported memory use after a reboot is also better than 282. We’ll see if that holds up.
