100fastestgrowing RIM just got a huge pat on the back from Fortune and both Co-CEO’s were there to bask in the glory. Fortune now has RIM listed as the #1 fastest growing company on the 2009 list. They interviewed both co-CEOs Jim Balsillie and Mike Lazaridis for the occasion and quite a few interesting news bits came out. Its kind of interesting to read a little about how the dynamic duo have been masterfully managing RIM for the last 17 years. They also talk a bit about how RIM planned all along on addicting as many BlackBerry users as possible. :)

Usually these interviews are pretty boring but this one is really worth a read. I am truly thrilled to hear that RIM has finally realized that third party apps is where RIM can differentiate themselves. They should realize that they need to do anything they can to court developers. Especially when they are perfectly posed to take advantage of their main competitors idiocy such as not allowing multitasking and the arbitrary iTunes App Store.
