I use to always get this error upgrading my OS on the 8310. This was a pain, even though I could always recover. However, by reverting my theme back to one of the BB Dimension themes before upgrading, I have not come across this error again.

This BB article now explains the likely cause of my issue; the fact that my BB was not seeing my installed theme's .cod file during the upgrade. Thanks!

The only time I get the error 507 is when I intentionally wipe my device using BBSAK to I can make a clean move from one Hybrid OS to another. Of course some users may run into this for other reasons but its not the end of the world, unless your BB won't take the OS again.
