I just purchased this Blackberry and I have to tell you that I LOVE it :) It isn't the bold but I was looking for something smaller, lighter, and basic. Coming from the iphone I certainly wasn't going to go to a larger device so that ruled out the Bold. The 8900 didn't seem to offer better features minus the camera....but that is what a digital camera is for....that being said, I chose this because of the trackpad. In one word...AMAZING!! Will never go back to the trackball and love everything about this phone :) I highly recommend it and along with the great deal from Amazon, Walmart is selling currently for 48.88. Now how can you beat that??? Worth trying!

The display isn't as bad as you would think it is, especially anyone coming from an 83, 81 or 88 device.
There is much less (read: hardly any) gap between the LCD screen and the "lens".
Granted, its not as crisp as the 89 or 96, but it is still better than 80% of all the other devices on the market.

Definitely looks worthwhile for intro users. The 320x240 is my main gripe.

But with this + the 9700, they will have very good low and high end device offerings.
