Are there people who just tweet inane crap like that and never interact with anyone? Sure, but those people don't get it either, and really *are* "doing it wrong." It's called "social" media for a reason, and you only get out of Twitter what you put into it. If you simply use it as your personal sounding board, then you obviously aren't going to get much value out of it. Once you realize how it really should be used, and start making connections with people and sharing information/news/etc, then it actually makes a lot more sense.
