One of the annoyances with certain applications is that you need to restart them when you reboot. Most applications that need to be on all the time are smart enough to reinitiate when you reboot or give you the option for them to run at startup. Others like Viigo do not have this option.
Summer let me know that ShaoSoft released the free Start Me Up application to solve this exact problem. You can set what applications you wish to starts and then wait a few seconds before rebooting. You can even set a restart delay so that applications will only fire up 30 seconds after the reboot so that the device is already connected to the internet and initiated.
You can download the app free at this link. Make sure to report your findings in this forum thread that Shao started.

I’m trying to think what apps I might need this for? Can anyone suggest an important app that you would use this to auto-start after a reboot?

It doesn’t work on bold. If you change startup delay, when you reboot it’s still 8 sec. Too low to let Beejive login.

It shouldn’t have an issues on the Bold, thats the device I used to primarily test this on. What OS are you running?

Did you try to set a different startup delay? it says “settings saved” but when you reboot… still 8sec…

Are you rebooting right after you save settings? I believe there is an issue with the BB OS that even tho the app requests the settings to be saved, the OS caches the settings but doesnt commit them immediately, try saving your settings, waiting 30 seconds then rebooting.

The only use I have for this is MyAlarm, since it does not start up on its own. And now I can schedule a daily QuickPull while I’m sleeping!

This might be handy for slacker since it starts so slow. However, slacker is alsoa bit of a pig on resources so maybe not so great to have on a the time.
