App World 1.1 Goes International with More Languages – Official Change Log! have been covering the BlackBerry App World release quite a bit today. Now we have the official change log thanks to RIM. I also got the great news that a colleague of mine, Douglas Soltys, is now working as RIM’s official Blog Manager and I expect great things from him! He let me know that Alex K put up a short tutorial on RIM’s official blog at this link.

Official change log below:

  • Enhanced discovery
    • View the catalog by free vs. paid top downloads
    • Additional categories and sub-categories
  • Customers can sort their search results by:
    • Newest
    • Highest Rated
    • Price (lowest/highest)
    • Developer (alphabetical)
    • Application Name (alphabetical)
  • Archive apps: Customers can now archive their apps to SD Card or on-device storage memory and reinstall when they want to use them

New customers can go to  or to download BlackBerry App World 1.1. Current users will be notified of the new version a red star on the BlackBerry App World icon.

Available to download in five languages (English, French, Italian, German, Spanish), BlackBerry App World 1.1 is also now available to customers in Italy, France, Spain, Germany, Ireland, Austria, Luxembourg, Belgium, Netherlands, Portugal and the Channel Islands, as well as those in the U.S., UK and Canada.

  1. Finally…… search sorting….

  2. Crap..makes my Storm slow as molasses…seriously does RIM ever test their software?

  3. Stupid app won’t run if it can’t see the appworld servers. Does that mean you can (un)archive when out of wireless range? Stupid.

  4. I think it’s worth noting it looks like they fixed the way trials work. That was a pretty big issue.

  5. Can’t connect!

  6. Why are none of the blogs reporting that the new App World doesn’t work on many Blackberries? Check out the popular BB forums and tons of people are getting error messages. Best advice – keep the old version until all the bugs are worked out of the new version.

  7. Does anyone know of an OTA link for those of us outside the mentioned countries? I am using v1.0 and it works very well wherever I go.

  8. Hell
ther’s a way to fix the no connection error.
_Do not download direct from you phone!
_Go to your computer , go to the app Worl download page
_And from there input your email adress and have the
download link sent to you phone

  9. Load App World for the PC and it should work. The OTA for the 8330 is bad
