RIM Ramping Up Their Product Placements? Now on Xbox EA NHL 10

I wrote an article last month about a BlackBerry Pearl showing up on Burn Notice. Since then I have started paying attention to the product placements and BlackBerrys have started showing up everywhere! RIM has been working hard on their U2 deal which it looks like the Tour is named after. On top of that I keep on seeing BlackBerrys in every actors hand on TV. My wife was watching Royal Pains this past weekend and everybody in the show uses a BlackBerry. It makes me wonder if and how much RIM is paying for this?

One of our readers, Don, sent me a link today of a screenshot he took in the game showing a BlackBerry as the phone of choice. That was a first for me since I have yet to see a specific brands phone in a game. Now if only EA would let Midway come out with a new version of NHL Hitz…

So where else have you spotted your beloved BlackBerrys? The weirder the better!

    I don’t think RIM pays too much money as far as TV placement is concerned because most celebs and TV people have Berry’s…I think its a given that whenever they use a phone in a shot, a lot of the time it’ll be blackberry.
    However, if I may go a bit off topic and talk about another phone….On the show “The Closer”(good show by the way) they have been using a G1, and it’s definately paid for. It’s so cheesey how they use it in the show. For instance taking pics of a crime scene and using the google maps app to find an address…it’s one of the most obvious TV placements I’ve ever seen, it’s almost comical.
