RIM Pays Visto $267.5 Million for Patents & License
I just find these patent settlements mindboggling. This is not $618 million like the NTP settlement but Visto was sold to Good Technologies so I guess they at least have a viable product.
RIM paid Visto for licensing all of their patents and for transferring some intellectual property. Now that RIM has Visto off their backs there really are no financial pitfalls on the radar.
How much do you want to bet that the next company sues RIM for some patent by year end?
