Developer Explains How to Develop BlackBerry Homescreen Website Launchers
I personally use homescreen launchers as a sort of bookmark system for my BlackBerry. I have a folder on my BlackBerry full of launchers for sites I visit often like mobile.blackberry.com and our mobile site.
Regular users cannot create homescreen shortcuts which is a real pain but Fabian did a great job recently detailing in a few steps how to develop a homescreen launcher. Keep in mind that you still need to have a familiarity with development and own signing keys from RIM ($20) last time I checked to get this to work. All you budding BlackBerry programmers can check out the details here.
Fabian is also looking for suggestions on what to add to his very popular LaterDude application. You can comment on his post or send him a tweet (@FabianMH) with your ideas.
If you really are interested in homescreen shortcuts and can’t be bothered about development check out the EDL homescreen launchers.
