WiFi Cafe Spots Stores Database of Free WiFi on Your BlackBerry
One of the developers sent me a link to this app called Free WiFi Cafe Spots. It essentially stores 14,000 cafes and restaurants with free WiFi on your BlackBerry. It includes listings from the United States, Canada, Europe, & Australia.
I am not sure where it gets this information but I can see it being very useful now that many BlackBerrys have WiFi. When I was on my last trip internationally I only left the WiFi turned on and turned off my data connection. That let me get my email whenever I went to a cafe or back to the hotel since I did not want or need to get email constantly while on vacation.
Free WiFi Cafe Spots attempts to help you with your roaming charges by using GPS (if you have it) to tell you where the closest free WiFi is located. It works without GPS and without a internet connection so you can use it internationally as long as you have the city/neighborhood or postal code.
I am not sure if you will be willing to pay $2,99 for the app but it is on sale for $0.99 until July 31st.
