DubMeNow v2 Released: Contact Exchange App Adds LinkedIn Invites
Back in March we told you about the free contact exchange application DubMeNow. They just let me know that they have updated their application with some new features including the ability to send LinkedIn invites along with your contact. Pretty cool since LinkedIn has yet to make a BlackBerry app…
They have also slimmed down the size of the application in the new version and are already working on version 2.5. The upcoming version in September will allow you to connect via GPS (not sure how that will work), add photos, and include your social media contacts for over 20 social networks. You will also be able to join groups and connect with people from your phone.
Personally I think either LinkedIn or RIM should follow in DubMeNow’s footsteps. LinkedIn already has much of the underlying infrastructure necessary to make this happen if they just had an app. RIM could also integrate a sort of contact exchange in BB Messenger kind of like we used to do with Palm Pilots and infrared back in the day.
You can pick up version 2 from the App World or directly OTA at www.dubmenow.com
