RIM Caps Your Facebook On Device Friends to 1200… Anybody Close?

Group of smiling friends standing against white background with Santa ClausI don’t have anywhere near 1200 friends on Facebook but I thought this little tidbit was pretty funny. RIM sets a limit of how many friends you can view on Facebook 1.6. If you have more than 1200 friends then supposedly RIM will only display the last 1200 friends you interacted with. (Source)

I find it kind of interesting how RIM sets these limits. They have a limit of 600-700 friends in Google Talk. Though Facebook keeps asking me to find more friends

Maybe one day I will hit that 1200 mark just to see how this works. I would be curious to see what it actually does if you do have more than 1200 friends. Maybe your BlackBerry will do a little dance and make a little crash. :) Or you will just get a message saying “You cannot have that many friends!”

I have 1262 friends, but don’t get a warning on 1.6.0.21, just some of my friends don’t show up. It is kind of random who it selects to not show up and changes from refresh to refresh.
