JasonP let me know that Iusacell has released OS 4.7.0.151 for the 9530. For some reason it is listed under the 9500 but the OS is for the 9530. Definitely worth checking out since this is newer than the 148 out from Verizon.

I am not able to get this to load on my phone. Does anybody have a different install or advice? Any information is appreciated.
Thanks!

After you have installed the download on your PC, go to:
c:program files>common files>research in motion>apploader
First, delete “vendor.xml”
Second, double-click on “Loader.exe”
Follow the prompts.
I would go get BBSAK from rimgeeks.com first and do a full backup of all apps first though. Oh, and use Desktop Manager to do a backup of your contacts and such. Loader.exe will offer to do a full backup and restore of your data and apps, but I personally like to have my own backup before trusting the “during upgrade” backup.

Is there a trick to installing this version? I get to the desktop manager and it says not software update is required. the new version ran without error, and opened the manager.

What version of DTM?
And did you delete the vendor.xml file?

I guess I am being dumb, but where is the vendor.xml file.
I have had to mess with this file a couple of times, the rest of the time, it just works.

OK I installed this and everything seemed to work. However the ABOUT screen on the Storm says v4.7.0.148

mine shows 4.7.0.151, guess you reinstalled .148 and not .151

The filename I downloaded is this:
9530AMEA_PBr4.7.0_rel172_PL4.0.0.153_A4.7.0.122_Iusacell
Is that the same as you all have?

I noticed the file name that I posted above does not match the file name at the top of this article.
Weird?
Then I went and deleted everything related to BB from my PC (uninstall) and rebooted. Reinstaled, deleted the vendor.xml and it still says I have no updates.

What version of DTM are you using?
A big issue with current DTM versions is that with the “auto-check for updates”, it won’t allow you to install an OS that isn’t “carrier approved” even if you delete the vendor.xml file.
I recommend if you do any type of tech work on a BlackBerry at all, to use DTM 4.2 Service Pack 2.

DTM 4.7.0.37
I haven’t had this problem with all of the previous releases, go figure eh?
Where do I get the 4.2 and SP2

Hmm…I go to the linked site from the article and I find
Software para la BlackBerry® Storm (TM) 9530 smartphone
BlackBerry Handheld Software v4.7.0.172 (Multilanguage)
Package Version: 4.7.0.172
Consisting of:
* Applications: 4.7.0.122
* Software Platform: 4.0.0.153
* File name: 9530AMEA_PBr4.7.0_rel172_PL4.0.0.153_A4.7.0.122_Iusacell.exe
* File size: 104.43MB
Under listings for Iusacell, I see the “standard players” xx30 BlackBerry models, including 9530, but nothing about a 9500.

This is for the 9530 the best I understand.

I am even more dense than I thought. When you go to the download above make sure you get the right file. There are 2 to choose from. Better yet paste the filename above into google and find other places that has it.
I didnt realize until just now that I got the wrong one. what a good waste of time…

Hey Ronen! Just fyi the dialog box word wrap is NOT fixed in this release.
Man, I really like the transition effects! Probably why this OS just feels snappier over all than .148 felt.

Yeah David it was only fixed in 4.7.1 according to the dev I spoke to. Still have not had a chance to check it out..

Its nice, but I really miss 4.5′s “Column View”. There’s practically no difference between “Column” and “Page” view modes on the Tour as it sits. So they fix one thing and break another.
