BlackBerry App World Hits 2,000 Apps – Opening Up Soon in More Countries
Looks like RIM managed to hit the 2,000 mark for applications in the App World. They could easily triple or quadruple that if they opened it up to themes…
Jeff McDowell, RIM’s VP of global alliances, let loose in a Bloomberg interview that the App World is coming to Italy, France, Germany, & Spain this month. Brazil and India also get in on the action in the coming months.
The thing that will really kill this expansion is that many apps are not available in different countries and different carriers. An app can artificially be limited to certain countries even though it will work anywhere.
