BlackBerry Onyx 9020 Gets Unboxed on Video

Paul sent me a link to this great unboxing video of the BlackBerry Onyx 9020. Kevin has already done a review of a prerelease for us but I this is the first look we have of the accessories that will come with the device. It looks like a basic slip case and charger this time and this device is just begging to replace my Bold.

The 9020 Onyx is the next GSM 3G BlackBerry to replace the Bold with a 3.2 Megapixel camera, GPS, Wi-Fi, 256Mb of internal memory, and a similar battery to the Bold. All in a smaller package!

My favorite part is the lack of the stupid scratch prone chrome on the sides!

  1. droooool…..cant wait, this will be my next BB, this or the magnum

  2. Wow, can’t wait :)

  3. I so want this phone!

  4. Ew, trackball. I’ve had enough of it with my Bold. I think I’ll pass on this “update”.

  5. wait…
    that’s an OLD onyx….with trackball.
the NEW onyx will be with trackpad.

  6. Its weird. I have see it with both a trackball and trackpad. I am not sure which one RIM is actually looking to release…

  7. Either way, there doesn’t seem to be much difference between the Onyx and the Bold, at least not enough of one to get me to shell out 300 (presumably) and renew my contract. BB hardware has been very disappointing of late… maybe better off waiting on a WinMo device with BB App Suite.

  8. Wondering where he got that from.
Not directly from RIM obviously (unless he repackaged it and sent it back to himself in US Express Mail packaging).

  9. im getting the one with the trackpad fo sho!

M to the K should be banned for WM talk on Berryreview.com!

    jk

    • Oh come now, I’m not a real WinMo fan. I’m just a disgruntled BB fan. It’d be nice to see a great browser and some decent hardware… I had high hopes for the Bold, but it just hasn’t been all that I’d expected.

  10. Only real thing missing now is the when… :-)
