Tried downloading but won't work, I'm running 5.0.0.130. Trying a Battery pull now to see if it's a simple fix. Just get the Java Language Error when I click the icon.

I tell you one more thing that would be nice. Since you are already working with graphics methods, maybe this won't be that difficult. Let us assume that a user has two JPG (or PNG) files. The user highlights them in the file picker interface. If exactly two picture files are highlighted in the file selector, the [brand new] Horizontal Merge and Vertical Merge menu items become visible.

If the pictures were the same height, it would be easy to merge them horizontally. Similarly, if the pictures were the same width, it would be easy to merge them vertically. Let's just say all the pictures are 200x200 pixels, for fun.

Example: Horizontal Merge
 1. [In code], create a new Bitmap object, that is (2X width, or 400) pixels wide, by (1X height, or 200) pixels high.
 2. Copy the bits from the first picture, and draw them into the left section of the Bitmap.
 3. Copy the bits from the second picture, and draw them into the right section of the Bitmap.
 4. Name and save the file.

Example: Vertical Merge
 1. [In code], create a new Bitmap object, that is (1X width, or 200) pixels wide, by (2X height, or 400) pixels high.
 2. Copy the bits from the first picture, and draw them into the top section of the Bitmap.
 3. Copy the bits from the second picture, and draw them into the bottom section of the Bitmap.
 4. Name and save the file.

What does this give us? The ability to make a collage of pictures.

See, in eBay, when you list items, they will give you one JPG picture free. They don't specify how large that picture can be. However, if you upload more than one picture, they charge you more money. As a result, when I list an item, I take multiple pictures and make a collage in Paintbrush on my PC - I'm thrifty. The resultant image is very wide and tall, but I have multiple pictures in it, and I pay nothing extra to have multiple pictures.

If I had this picture merge ability, I could do all of the following:
 1. Take 6 pictures of an object for sale on eBay. Say, an old, outdated iPhone, that cannot multi-task.
 2. Using BBFileScout, I could make the pictures all the same size (100x100).
 3. Using BBFileScout, I could horizontally merge two pictures, pic1.jpg + pic2.jpg, into a new picture file: merge1.jpg.
 4. Using BBFileScout, I could horizontally merge two pictures, merge1.jpg + pic3.jpg, into a new picture file: merge2.jpg. Now, I have a picture that is 3 pictures wide.
 5. Do this process again, for the other three pictures: pic4.jpg, pic5.jpg and pic6.jpg. Now, I have two very wide pictures, called merge2.jpg and merge4.jpg.
 6. Finally, using BBFileScout, I could vertically merge those two very wide pictures, merge2.jpg + merge4.jpg, into a new picture, called OutdatediPhoneForeBay.jpg.

Done! I simply upload that picture to eBay, when creating a listing, as my one free picture.

Just so you know, I am running BBOS v4.6.0.282, and it works fine on that. Lots of apps working strangely on 5.0; that scares me; I wonder if 5.0 will break a lot of existing apps.

I would guess that RIM is making dramatic changes to the API's, and they are not backward compatible. Who knows?

Now, that rocks. I was considering using BBOS 5.0's beta, just for this feature. I also considered writing an app, just to do resizing.

The only thing different that I was going to do in my app was also allow the user to enter a specific size. Why? Well, if you go to some websites, they let you have avatars that are 100x100 pixels or 50x50 pixels; I would like to shrink pictures to any size.
