I just spoke to a Verizon spokesperson and got positive confirmation that existing customers will be able to upgrade to the BlackBerry Tour. They told me that there was a “minor glitch” in the system and they are working to let existing customers upgrade on the pre-order site by tomorrow (July 2nd).
They also confirmed that all customers will be able to purchase the phone on July 12th. So what are you waiting for? Keep refreshing your browser until tomorrow and let me know when it is available!

Tom could you check? There is now a upgrade your phone link on the product page. Let me know if it works!

The Upgrade link has been there from day one. Unfortunately, it still does not work for me. I called customer service, sales, etc. — each call results in a different answer. The bottom line appears to be that anyone that has a corporate discount on their account cannot upgrade at this time. That’s right — make it the most difficult and frusterating for the most loyal customers (10+ years with multiple lines) and largest accounts (i.e., company with 20,000+ employees).
