Verizon BlackBerry Tour No Contract Price $489.99 – 1 Year Contract $269.99

Looks like Verizon has put out the number for no contract (month to month) purchases of the BlackBerry Tour. It will be going for $489.99 with no contract.

The surprising number is that the phone is going for $269.99 with a 1 year contract compared to the $199.99 for a 2 year contract. Weird that a 1 year contract bumps it down over $200 but a second year only brings it down $70… Let me know if you notice anything else!

Well, when you go to that VZW page it says “Pre-Order now for the introductory price of $199.99 with new 2-yr activation”.

Also, when I click through via my login while the Tour is still not listed as an upgrade option, every advanced device has either a $50 or $70 “Online Discount”, so the Tour should either be $219.99 or $199.99. It will be interesting to see once they fix the web site if the $269.99 price holds and thus makes MY price $99.99 (after $70 Online Discount and $100 NE2 Discount) because elsewhere on the site there are pages that say $50 off any BlackBerry smartphone. Wouldn’t it be nice if there was some consistency?!?

Isn’t it true there is some amortization in long tern contract. Therefore if you pay full price up front shouldn’t your monthly payment be lower?
