Viigo 3.1.330 Fixes Performance & Mark Prior Opened Sluggishness

Developer: Viigo Cost: Free

tango1-01I told you about Viigo’s update a bit back that added podcast support and more. The problem is that it introduced a few performance bugs along with a really annoying slowdown every time you wanted to Mark Prior Opened.

Viigo just released version 3.1.330 which fixes these issues. The only problem is that Viigo has now bloated to a 1.2Mb download! That is crazy considering that the Gmail app is just 440kb and Google Maps is 700kb. Not sure why but I hope that size is cut down in future versions. It is good to see that they are working on  fixing performance issues along with introducing new features. Keep up the good work Viigo!

  1. v2.2.82 was 323kB
    v3.0.864 was 1.04MB
    v3.1.330 was 1.11MB
so with all the additional “bloated functionality” (aside from the simple RSS reader I need) it has grown drastically… one of the main reasons I just don’t use it anymore!

  2. I think it still slows down on 8900 Curve. Anyone facing this issue? Thx

  3. It is getting rather large and slow. The upgrade seems better in the last few hours I used it. Maybe they should take a modular approach or perhaps “light” and “heavy” editions would help people better manage the app footprint. All in all, I still think it’s one of the best free apps on the platform and, for me at least, well worth the space it demands.
