TuneWiki – Upcoming Social Media Player With Lyrics

tunewiki TuneWiki is working on a new BlackBerry application that is trying to make your media experience more social. You essentially listen to your music using their application and it will show you the lyrics for your songs. It can also post the song you are currently playing to your Facebook and Twitter accounts. On top of that it also uses your GPS to show you a map of other users near you and what they are listening to.

Jason of GearDiary did a quick walkthrough of the current private beta and it is looking good. I am liking the idea of having lyrics and album art automatically brought to my device but I am not sure what to think about the social side of the app. Personally I don’t want all my friends to know what I am listening to all the time…

This could get even more interesting if TuneWiki would let you see what your friends are listening to and stream some of those songs somehow… Then I would not mind sharing what I am listening to.

Check out TuneWiki’s website for some idea of how the app works. They already have an iPhone and iPod Touch version of the app which is pretty popular.
