BellShare let me know that they have updated their eyecandy weather app to version 1.5. This new version adds a bunch of new features along with bug fixes. It is a free update for current owners and is retailing for $9.95.
Bellshare has been kind enough to offer us a couple of deals on BellShare:
- Giveaway: The first 50 users who use the coupon freebreviewweather at this link will get a free copy
- 25% Discount: You can also get 25% off the purchase price using the code berryweather25 which is valid until June 27th
The new features in BerryWeather are:
- ANIMATED RADAR MAPS (for US Locations only, add a custom radar map for international locations)
- Track your location via GPS/CELL TOWER LOCATION so you always know the weather where you are. (Cell location for GSM devices only. GPS does not work for non-Storm devices on Verizon due to carrier restrictions)
- Replace the default BerryWeather radar maps for any location with your preferred weather service’s radar maps!
- Sunrise/Sunset times and moon phase
- New Themes
- Smoother animations on BlackBerry Storm
- Improved battery and memory handling
- Many many more bug fixes

Wow… wasn’t prepared for this. Very extensive feature set. Very fast. I love how the GPS gets it’s fix from cell coverage first with GPS fallback. Accurate indoors that way. Well worth the $9.95
I’d buy it even if I hadn’t just gotten one of the first 50.
Thanks for the freebie.

It asks to input your PIN, can I move this program to another device (when I get the 9630)?

I bought this app a few months back and love it. Well worth the $10 as the GUI is light years ahead of all the free apps. My one beef was that it didn’t do location based weather. They now fixed that with v1.5.

Looks good but I’m too cheap and not enough of a weather geek to pony up 10 bux. Sigh. I did once win a radio contest for tickets to a Lou Reed show at the Ritz.
