HOT! PodTrapper Dev Details the BlackBerry Development Process

school_apples The developer of PodTrapper, Versatile Monkey, has done a BRILLIANT job of detailing the process of his development and the lessons he learned while developing PodTrapper. I think this is a must read for all current and future BlackBerry developers. Marcus does a great job of describing how he began development of the application all the way through its inclusion into the App World. This includes graphs and charts detailing which sales channel offered the most opportunity and what their drawbacks were.

I just finished reading the article and while it may be long I think it offers some amazing insight into the life of a BlackBerry developer. This is information that most developers have to learn the hard way and I really give Marcus props for sharing it with the developer community. Even if you are not a developer you might find it interesting to get a glimpse into what it means to develop for the BlackBerry OS.

  1. Great article. One marketing thing he left out: “Write about your app and get published in a major news site”.
