OS 5.0 to Bring SureType to QWERTY BlackBerrys
After RIM put SureType in the Storm and then gave users a full QWERTY keyboard in portrait mode I was always hoping that they would take it one step further. Cellphones have had predictive text on them in the form of T9 for ages so its a surprise we don’t already have them on QWERTY keyboards. Our buddy Kevin got a hold on a video of OS 5.0.0.110 showing SureType working on full QWERTY keyboards courtesy of modicusi.
So it looks like OS 5.0 will be bringing the option of SureType to the BlackBerry. Personally I think this is a double edged sword. I hated SureType on my old 7100 but it has improved since then. On the other hand I hope RIM gives us the option to turn it off easily since not everybody will love this option. Though it is great to see that RIM is continuing to evolve the OS in 5.0. Hopefully they have more goodies in store. Personally I am hoping for a way to backup all of the device to a memory card!
So what do you think about SureType?
