While perusing the PinStack forums, I ran across a post by Krazy Kat. It just happened to be a download link for Verizon’s VCast Song ID for the Storm. I downloaded and tested it out and it works really well with my Storm on T-Mobile. I guess they really are not keeping tight control on who uses it.  Just keep in mind that you need to enable the allow permissions in the application settings to get it to work. No promises on how long this will last but so far it looks like it has been around for a few days.

It’s really easy to use. Just click on ID New Song. It takes about 10 seconds for VCast to “listen” to the song and about 5 seconds or so to analyze it.

Then you are given the artist, song title and album.

Click on My ID Center and you will see all the songs that you have ID’d. That way you can later email yourself the song information or just check it out right then.

It’s pretty nift and I will definitely keep it. Currently it is working to get it VCast OTA at this link. Enjoy!

Now does this use minutes like the original version or will it use the data plan and not cost anything?
