LEDReset – Free App Simply Turns Off Your LED Until Your Next Alert

Developer: RIMGeeks Cost: Free

LEDReset[3] I know many people have complained about LED lights blinking even when there are no unread messages. The guys over at RIMGeeks decided to do something about it with their free app LEDReset. It simply turns off the LED when you click the icon. The LED will stay off until the next time you get a message, IM, missed call… You get the point. The only catch is that the LED will not blink at all until your next message so it will not blink the “alls good” green or “Bluetooth” blue…

LEDReset is great for turning off the light when you don’t want to be bothered but don’t want to turn it off completely. You can download it OTA at this link or read more at this link.

This is an app for the truly lazy. I’d feel much better finding what’s new and causing my blinking light. But, there are people who care how it works, and people that care that it works.

How is this app for the truly lazy? I think its a great temporary solution for people who have to put up with their BB blinking when there are no messages or missed calls to view. For example, every now and then, my 8900 blinks the red LED even after I’ve viewed all my messages and or missed calls. Its kind of annoying to have the LED blink when its not supposed to. Again, this app takes care of it. Also, it can help preserve battery life instead of having your BB blink virtually forever or until you power cycle your BB

  2. I think it’s great that people continue to write free BB apps. Keep them coming!

As it turns out, you can do the same thing with my ExtraLight “flashlight” app, also free. Turn it on, turn it off, and your LED is dark again. If you want a 2-in-1 app, grab ExtraLight here:
