Free CitySearch App Released for BlackBerry
While browsing through the featured apps on BlackBerry APP world I came across this new app called Citysearch. The app has a nice slick look to it, and like many apps that offer similar services I find this one to be very useful. The application lets you set your location or if your BlackBerry has GPS you can use the GPS to find your location and featured places. This application sets itself apart from similar apps because it offers many useful options.
At the top of the app it has an option to search for places by name or by typing a category and it gives you the results by relevance of your search. Next it gives you a preset selection of searches broken down by , Eat, Drink, Shop, and Relax, which will bring up a list of featured places that you can browse through. When you find something you like it gives the user the options to send the information by either email, Pin, or a text message.
Some of my favorite features is the ability to tweet your find, or invite other BlackBerry users by setting a meeting time and place using the Native calendar and sending an invite via email.
Other features that you will find useful it has options to call the place, map it with Google maps integration, check the hours a certain place is open, it also has an overview option, check if photos are available, and last it has an option to look up reviews and a list of commentary from the owner of the location you are interested.
One thing that really caught my attention of this application is the Tip calculator included which lets you calculate tips by percentage and the best part is so fast and easy to use, all you have to do is enter an amount at the top and it automatically gives you options from 10 to 30 percent, depending on the amount you enter it gives you the tip amount and a total amount. The great thing about it is that the application is free.
In my opinion this is one of the best applications out there for this type of service. I don’t know if there is a direct link to it just yet if you do know please let us know but for right now I believe the only way to get it is from BlackBerry app world.
