Speaking of a step backward, what happened to cell-tower-based location? I don’t see it as an option. Not good news for those like me with Verizon-locked Curves.

I missed this one, too! It would be more intuitive for the menu item to be one level up (i.e., never thought to click on location before opening menu).

Frustrates the heck out of me that I just installed Poynt from App World and it was v1.1 something. What good is App World if it doesn’t notify me an app I installed from there has a new version available. Argh…..

Hey everyone! Thanks for your interest in Poynt.

Regarding the removal of the “Map It” section, that same functionality exists elsewhere in the app. To map your current search location, click on the location bar at the top, then click the BlackBerry key (just left of the trackball). Select ‘Map Location’.

As far as reverse lookup, you can initiate a lookup directly from the Call Log. If the number is not listed, it returns location and carrier info.

Additionally, this version also adds business and movie listings for Germany — unfortunately, people listings are not (yet?) available.
