9530 Storm OS 4.7.0.148 Desktop Installer Now On Verizon’s Website

Weather_the_stormJason was kind enough to let me know that Verizon has finally put up OS 4.7.0.148 on their website. Many people already upgraded to this version via desktop manager auto-upgrade, web upgrade, wireless upgrade, or just used the beta version. On the other hand I know that this did not work for everybody and users on a BES usually have to wait until the carrier releases the desktop install files before their company rolls it out to all users.

So let the floodgates open. Your SysAdmins have no reason to continue denying you your OS 4.7.0.148 fix…

You can find the download at these links:

And in case you are not on Verizon and cannot get a hold of the beta:

PS: Sorry about reusing the picture but it just makes me laugh…

Anybody but me having trouble upgrading to Storm OS 4.7.0.148? I tried to download/install OTA, but at 14% download the program froze – after 4 hours still at 14%. I came home and tried to download/install from Desktop Manager Installer. It looked fine until I kept getting this error msg: “A fatal error has occurred while updating your device’s software. Please try again.”

Tried several times with same error msg results.

Tried again to download/install OTA, but this time the download froze at 74%.

Any idea what’s wrong and how to get a full and clean download/install?

Never mind my 6/3 entry. Tonite I opened the Desktop Manager, intending to sync music, and another window opened informing me that an upgrade was available. I figured what did I have to lose, so clicked Yes. Bottom line, the 4.7.0.148 upgrade downloaded & installed flawlessly. Go figure!
