Slacker v2.0.2 Released – Much Faster Song Skips

Developer: Slacker Cost: Free

Picture 1 DavidB let me know that Slacker has released an update to their popular BlackBerry app. The new version 2.0.2 adds much faster song skips along with faster streaming in general. All the rest of the features should be the same but there should be much shorter gaps in your listening now.

That should be a nice update but it looks like they are recommending that you uninstall the current version before installing the update.

You can pick it up by heading to www.slacker.com from your BlackBerry or going to this link. Let me know if you notice anything else!

Looks like http://www.slacker.com/mobile/blackberry no longer works. Just go to http://www.slacker.com on the BB and they take care of the rest. Just one click to the download.

The BB doesn’t recognize it as an upgrade so an uninstall of the old version is definitely necessary.

  2. So far, I am unable to get it to crash my 8330 curve which is a huge improvement. Unfortunately, it also pauses for long periods of time unless I skip the song. Still, I love this app quirks and all because it just keeps getting better. Much kudos to the slacker dev team. It’s the only on-line radio app I use because of the caching feature.

  3. If you mean Song skip, then yes works with cached music.

If you mean the pausing then yes, it also will pause for a long period even on cached songs. If I wait long enough it starts palying again or I can pause/play or song skip to get it playing again.

I also noticed that the icon is screwy. It gets bigger if you are running slacker but does not shrink again when it has been shut down.
