Guess the confusion comes from a different prices policy (second and futher year subscription for Notifysync is sustantional lower, while Astrasync is fixed per year)?
Never mind. Fact is that Notifysync seems to be the ultmate prefered solution for both Microsoft and Research In Motion:

AstraSync has fully licensed the ActiveSync protocol from Microsoft, there is nothing "pirate" about it.

"And Astrasync is a server based solution"

AstraSync is NOT a server based solution, it connects directly to your ActiveSync server, no middleware invovled. This seems to be a common misconception so just putting the story straight.

"Also this price puts it above the competing solution from AstraSync which is only $49/year."

$30/year is BELOW €49/year. And Astrasync is a server based solution, making you DEPENDANT op their servers while NotifySync talk straight to your email server. The $120 is not to much to license a professional product and €30 is a big deal for a first class support team ...

"Finally"? What kind of comment is that from a supposedly independent forum?

I never had a problem getting a price from the Notify Technology sales people. In fact I like dealing with people not just web forms and forums.

It seems odd that this forum is so much in favor of one product over another...if it is actually an independent site.

We tested AstraSync and it killed our phones. Apart from that it didnt offer full folder sync like Notify did. With Notify I could also get my sent items.

All in all we felt it was worth paying extra to have a product that worked as it should unlike Astra which clearly was rubbish

Just my 2c but dont waste your time or money with Astrasync

Hah this is so funny....This guy Andy must live on the moon because the reality as I see is very different. I have used NotifySync for many months and Notify UK's support has been very good with their support and response times. I did try AstraSync and it was nothing but trouble as was their support (forum based).

Where did he get this pricing from because I can see Notify UK selling at £99 not £120 GBP. Fair enough its not as cheap as AstraSync however from what I can see AstraSync only provide a forum for support. That's not good enough for my Enterprise requirements. Also you know the expression you get what you pay for !

Funnily enough AstraSync make a clear statement on every page that they are not affiliated with RIM or Microsoft in anyway. I suppose that has some truth as if I look on the BlackBerry Solution catalogue

http://www.blackberrysolutionscatalogue.com/BSC_SEARCH/spotlight_return.jsp?toc1=null&toc2=null&xq=free_free_notifysync

I can only see Notify's products listed as Official approved RIM solutions. I would hate to find that a product I was using and paid for was not officially licensed and could land me in a whole heap of legal trouble as a result of it being "Pirate" software.

Whose a Nobody now ???

ok so i emailed notify link people, well these guys are NOT setup to deal with end users, and i live in the uk so magically 120 us dollars = 120 pounds in the uk. the uk people seem to think its fair. however 120 usd = about 75 pounds. anyway their software works ok. but the price per user is STUPIDLY HIGH.

i have tested astrasync and since they have released 3.0 3 days ago its been running fine. get a trial see how it works for you. astrasync works ok for me on my 8900..

as to the other.. forget them.. useless expensive nobodys
