It looks like RIM pulled the Facebook 1.6 launch for today. Seems like they are having some issues with the new iteration which is not surprising considering the Facebook apps rocky history. Hopefully we will be seeing the new version sooner rather than later…
On the other hand they were already preparing partners and carriers for the launch today so I am not sure what happened. I guess it is better that they hold off than risk a similar debacle like the Facebook 1.5 launch caused.
We will keep you in the loop as we learn more.

Well that’s great isn’t it, not really surprising though, why both releasing a date which they could obviously not keep to??!!

Boo! Ah well, better than half baked apps being released. Those wanting facebook chat, among your other IM get Palringo.

In RIM’s defense, the 1.6 release was never officially announced, so technically it’s not really a delay.

Considering how quickly this was announced in relation to the actual release of 1.5, I’m not upset. I’d rather they get all the bugs worked out…
