Pre-release Storm 2 Gets Hands-on Review! Looks Like SurePress is Dead
That was quick! Sean Cooper over at Engadget managed to get his hands on a pre-release Storm 2 and walks us through it. Sadly the review is a bit limited since the touchscreen has a fault where they cannot accept RIM’s user agreement so they could not review the new OS.
It looks like SurePress is now confirmed dead. There were some rumors of a haptic (vibrating feedback) feature but Engadget did not see it since they could not get into the OS. Its kind of crazy that RIM is dropping their SurePress feature since they were touting their horn all year about how “revolutionary” it was. Supposedly the device is sleeker and has a nice heft and the touchscreen does not move. As rumored before the bottom keys are now soft keys instead of actual buttons. Engadget says it has metal trim which sounds nice.
