US Cellular Offers Free Battery Swap Within 18 Months

logo_corp_2color_notagNow this is the most subscriber friendly feature I have heard of in awhile from a carrier. Back during CTIA we told you about one user who had his battery replaced free at the RIM booth for a fresh one. Supposedly RIM also did this during WES.

Now it looks like US Cellular is actually making this their policy. They have a new Battery Swap program launching today where customers can come to any US Cellular store and change their dead or dying battery for a fully charged one free. The only catch is that you need to have purchased the phone in the last 18 months. This is definitely cooler than AT&T who replaced my phone but no the battery within the phones warranty.

I am REALLY hoping this catches on! Imagine being able to go into any store for a fresh battery. It is in their interest since you will probably use the battery to use more minutes and data. Kind of makes you wonder about that phone that has no user replaceable battery…

what should i dont know please someone tell me

  2. I am actually a U.S. Cellular employee and I can say that this 18 month period is simply NOT TRUE! We will replace the costomers old battery with a fully charged one for FREE. As long as the phone is on our supported phone list and the phone is active on an account it does not matter when the phone was bought.
