I had seen the iVista theme around and quite fancied its interesting design but I knew The Z Man (aka Zach) was making some interesting updates to it, so I was happy when he had it ready for me to do a review. Enter iVista2…available for a variety of devices such as the; 81xx, 83xx, 87xx, 88xx (OS 4.5) as well as the 82xx, 89xx, 9xxx & 95xx.
On the left side of the main screen, there are a total of (9) user customizable icons. The top (4) and the bottom (5) which are the first (9) icons you arrange on your application screen. On the right side, you have a clock (which actually tells the right time) the battery indicator, a calendar icon (when you highlight it, your calendar entries appear to the left and when you click on it, it takes you to your calendar) and just underneath, your messages icon. Whew! That was a lot to say…but in truth, there is lots going on in this theme. However, that said, the Bold version I tested was extremely easy to maneuver through. I have to say, I am pretty impressed with this theme. The more I use it, the more I like it!
Take note that the theme does vary a bit between devices (as you would suspect because of the differences in screen size, etc) but more screen shots can be found at this link. So take a good look at the theme shots for your device before purchasing. And BTW, you can purchase the theme right in our Berryreview Store for $6.00.

This theme has many reports of memory loss on the Storm and the ZMan is very unresponsive.
I do not recommend doing business with a theme developer that abandons his work.

Very nice Bold theme but I agree with the previous post about the developer. I had purchased a theme from him and could never get him to respond. There are plenty of themebuilders that bend over backwards to help but he is not one of them.

I try to be as responsive as possible and I always try to help my supporters any way I possibly can. Without my supporters I wouldn’t be where I am today. That being said, I am literally only ONE person working 4 hours a night running a site and developing themes and providing support for them. I apologize if I have failed to respond. I am trying to help everyone. Feel free to email me directly @ thezmanbb@gmail.com or via twitter @zachthezman

Maybe I’m in the minority, but I must say that I am quite pleased with The Z Man’s responsiveness. I bought IVista2 two months ago for my Storm. The theme worked well but there were a few minor things to be improved. I and others left comments in the Z Man’s IVista2 comments page. He replied to the comments and released updates that corrected several problems and improved the theme. The most recent update, 1.4, uses less memory. Does it have a memory leak? I don’t know because I can’t pin point which apps aren’t clearing their old java garbage. Maybe it’s IVista2, maybe it’s some other app that’s the culprit. Anyway, I’ve been using IVista2 since early May and I’ve yet to see another theme that I like better.

Just purchased iVista2 for AT&T BB Curve 8310 with v.4.5 OS update. The only icons that display on the home page are 5 bottom center icons and one on the sidebar. Nice color scheme, etc. Icon characters are clever.
I thought I’d share this with fellow Curve 8300 users so they don’t assume they’re getting configuration (9 center icons, 3 or more side icons) or variation thereof on the screenshot above.
