MobiMouse 1.3 Now Works Over Mobile Network Too!

mobimousenetwork I am really liking where MobiMouse is going with their app. This little app that could now lets you control your PC over the mobile network along with USB, Bluetooth, & WiFi. There is a noticeable lag but it is not as bad on a 3G connection. Definitely cool for controlling my Winamp playlist from anywhere in my apartment without having to turn on WiFi every time. Now all I need is a way for MobiMouse to show me my playlist on my BlackBerrys screen.

You can read the instructions on how to set up MobiMouse to work over the cell network but I cannot promise how secure it is. You may want to try a dynamic DNS provider like DynDNS.org or something to help with remembering your IP address. If you don’t have a copy you can pick one up in the store on sale now for $5.99 with a 7 day free trial.

The developer even found a way to make the app open his garage as you can see below though that is not supported… :(

  1. I prefer to wait for LogMeIn to come up with a BlackBerry app that’s free like they did for Pocket PC. In the past I’ve used their Pocket PC app over wifi which worked very well. I was amazed at how LogMeIn was able to create an app so lean and extermely useful.

Also, my curve is with Verizon which does not have wifi, I will just have to wait for my next phone which will hopefully be just as good as the curve, but with wifi.
