RIM to Replace Unite! With New Groups Tool This Summer?
Kevin over at CrackBerry let loose the juicy rumor that RIM has a new tool up their sleeve to replace Unite! It will be called BlackBerry Groups and should be out sometime this summer. It is a collaboration tool that adds some of the features Unite had such as calendar & contact sharing and adds some more like location sharing.
I have always thought that RIM needs to add some sort of collaboration for non-BES users. On the other hand I think it is more important for them to enable OTA contact, calendar, & notes sync for regular BIS users just like you can get with Windows Mobile, Symbian, & the iPhone by just using plain ActiveSync. Hopefully Groups will address a bit of that.
